Out of sight, out of mind. I find many fans that a hugely neglected just because you cant see them.
A large kitchen venue at Currumbin here on the Gold Coast recently contacted me as a result of a random roof inspection that uncovered a grease laden fan and roof area. The previous contactors had only been cleaning the hood in the kitchen. Call it what you what but at the end of the day I have found that many just dont do the fans. I call it laziness.
To take a closer look we installed a large access panel at the base of the kitchen exhaust fan and ducting. What we found was twenty years of never been cleaned. There was a excessive amount of residual grease which is real terms had become a potential fire hazard.

After I installed the access panel we came back to do the work. Four hours and a lot of back breaking scraping we managed to remove most of the grease from the duct . What I was most happy about was the build up that no longer impeded the running of the fan .

Many new restaurant customers tell me that they are currently happy with the present commercial work that they are receiving until I take a look inside and show them the areas that they don’t see.
